My Journey.

I was an overweight, rambunctious military kid who moved around a lot with my family, loved fast food, had trouble focusing and learning, had ADD and ADHD and couldn’t run a mile in gym class.

As I hit my teen years, I realized I didn’t want to be the fat kid anymorekids are mean! – but my mom decided not to put me on medicine to help me focus in school. Instead, she decided to cut out processed foods, soda and chips — and she made me run, which I absolutely hated at the time.  

But the results were clear: I started to lose weight, I was able to focus at school and not fall behind, I started to become good at sports, I was on the honor roll every year after the changes despite feeling like I had to study harder than most other people. And I’ll never forget the day I was able to run a full mile in gym class.

I went to James Madison University (Go Dukes!) in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and graduated with a Bachelors in Business with a Marketing degree. From there, I moved to Northern Virginia.

I had great marketing jobs for 8 years after college. I enjoyed those years, I was good at my job, put my time in and I worked hard. I was getting promotions and moving up the ranks — but after awhile, I felt like something was missing….  I looked around and didn’t want my boss’s job or my boss’s boss’s job, so I started to reflect on what I was passionate about and what my God-given gifts were.  I believe EVERY SINGLE PERSON is put on this Earth for a unique purpose and I started to soul search about what mine was.

Everyone I talked to said I was a good motivator, bubbly, peppy, and compassionate, and I really was interested in health and fitness.

I believe things happen for a reason because around this time…

I was struck with horrible stomach issues and such low energy that I could barely force myself to do any sort of workout. I was unfocused, anxious and had trouble sleeping. Every time I went to the doctor, they told me I was healthy, to take TUMS for my acid reflux and that it was most likely due to stress in my life so they recommended anti-anxiety medicine. But I did not want to do that because I know those medicines could lead to other health-related issues.

I went for months trying to figure out my issues, and I gained close to 15 lbs in 2 months. I was devastated that I couldn’t control it.

AND THEN my company hired a Holistic Health coach to do Wellness talks on Fridays and supplied lunch for us if we attended the events.  Employee morale was down, but this program was fun for everyone and it definitely made it less awkward to make a green smoothie in the kitchen because everyone knew about the benefits of it. After a while, everyone knew it was the healthier choice, not just something that the weird healthy people were doing. After one of the Corporate Wellness sessions I couldn’t help myself!

I KNEW this was my calling

I asked our wellness coach what she did to get there. She told me about her nutrition school, and once I started to research it I was blown away and used my savings to attend.

I learned about Holistic Health, how the body can heal itself, more than 100 different dietary theories and had the best gurus in the nutrition world as my teachers. It was eye opening, and I remember thinking that I was SHOCKED by many things I learned and that others would be shocked, too.

Using what I learned, I healed my gut issues, lost the weight and regained energy ALL THROUGH Holistic health, nutrition and lifestyle changes.

I built up a list of clients while I was still at my last job, and I loved helping people in this way in my free time. It was SO REWARDING, my clients got great results and I felt so blessed to be in a position to help the people who were put in my path.

I found referral partners, joined the networking group BNI, and decided to quit my full time job.

I’m results driven, and I take pride in my client’s happiness and the knowledge that working with me is different from anything they’ve ever done before.

I set my clients up for SUCCESS.

I can related to my clients by having tried many yo-yo diets and overcoming health issues.  

People EVERY SINGLE DAY are walking around in pain, with anxiety, depression, having issues focusing, feeling unloved or like they don’t have a purpose in this world.  

It’s MY MISSION TO EDUCATE AND INSPIRE as many people as I can and the entire reason why I wake up every day excited to do what I do.

When I ask my clients why they think I’m unique, they say it’s because I provide HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT for people to make a change before it’s too late.  And really… let’s face it: If you’re not on your deathbed, then it’s never too late to make a positive change. I truly believe that.

P.S. – there are a few more things you should know about me:

I try to follow a mostly organic, plant based, gluten free diet because I feel best when I do.
I LOVE dark chocolate, wine and ice cream.  Thank goodness I learned how to make my own healthy ice cream. (keep your eyes peeled for those recipes)
I have run 2 marathons, 1 sprint triathlon, and many other races. I love that feeling on race day.
I play/organize coed soccer teams and make incredible relationships through outdoor activities.
People describe me as “bubbly” and “peppy.”  I suppose this is why people find me to be a great motivator.
My nickname is “Teenie.” Long story but thank my younger siblings and good friends for that!
I married the love of my life, Max Olson, on September 17th, 2011.
I was born in Hawaii. My Father was in the Army when I was growing up.
I’m Polish, German, French Canadian and Russian. I’m proud of my heritage and the delicious culture and food that comes with it!
I’m a relationship person. I care a LOT about each person I meet and work hard to help them achieve their goals and I’d love to help you reach yours.
I believe we all have unique God-given gifts with a purpose. I want you to be healthiest most confident version of yourself so that you can fulfill this purpose.
